Abstract

A wcdma mobile communication system in which the uplink state and the downlink state are separately controlled so that a mobile device need utilize a minimum radio resource more directly (i.e., at the more initial stage level). The mobile device includes monitoring means for monitoring an uplink data flow rate, state decision means for deciding a desired uplink state according to the result of the data flow rate monitoring by the monitoring means, and transmission means for transmitting an uplink state setting request decided by the state decision means to the radio base station device. The base station device includes decision means for deciding the uplink state for the uplink state modification request and means for response-notifying modification of the decided uplink state to the mobile device.
