A focus pull-in apparatus and a method thereof is disclosed. According to the present invention, a focus pull-in of an optical pickup is performed, according to the level of focus error signal which is generated during the rotation of an optical disc. Accordingly, a failure of focus pull-in due to vertical deviation during the rotation of the optical disc, can be prevented.
