The application relates to an
arteriovenous fistula vein segment maturation rate improvement
system, comprising: a
catheter delivery system comprising: a
catheter; first and second seals; the
catheter and the first and second seals are configured to be positioned within a lumen of a
vein segment to be treated; an
angioplasty device for expanding a lumen of a
vein segment; a first volume of brine; and a second volume of fluid, the fixative solution promoting cross-linking of proteins of the vein segment; the catheter
delivery system is configured to deliver the fixative solution through the one or more ports to the space between the first and second seals after delivery of the first volume of
saline and occupy the space for a predetermined time to crosslink proteins of the vein segment, and to deliver the fixative solution through the one or more ports to the first and second seals after delivery of the first volume of
saline. And aspirating the fixative solution from the space through one or more ports after a predetermined time to prevent vascular injury response due to
balloon angioplasty performed by the
angioplasty device, thereby improving the maturation rate of the vein segment of the
arteriovenous fistula.
