Method and apparatus for detecting refractive defects in transparent containers

A method of inspecting a transparent container for refractive defects includes positioning a light source in spaced relationship with respect to a detector which is operatively associated with a processor for receiving electrical signals from the detectors responsive to light passing through the container being received by the detector. The method includes positioning a grid filter having a plurality of alternating dark and light bands adjacent the light source so as to provide a multiple intensity gradient to the container. The container is positioned between the light source and the detector with the grid filter serving to provide adjacent alternate light and dark bands of light impinging on the container. Refractive defects will cause a distortion of the intensity gradient which will be received by the detector. In a preferred embodiment, a plurality of light and dark bands are generally horizontally oriented and produces a generally triangular wave having a constant absolute slope. A processor is employed to receive the electrical signals emitted by the detector responsive to the light impinging thereon and make a determination as to whether refractive defects exist while ignoring desired irregularities in the container. Corresponding apparatus which employs alternating light and dark bands in the grid filter and in the preferred embodiment employs dark bands of single intensity gradient and light bands of single intensity gradient. Each band has a constant gradient of light intensity passing therethrough. The grid filters produces a triangular wave having a constant absolute slope.

The invention provides an electronic device which comprises a liquid crystal display layer, a backlight module and a camera. The liquid crystal display layer comprises a display area, a light supplement area and a first through hole, and the light supplement area is located around the first through hole. The backlight module is provided with a second through hole corresponding to the first throughhole. The camera is arranged in a space formed by the first through hole and the second through hole. No filter layer is arranged or the pixel area is increased in the light supplement area to improve the light transmittance of the light supplement area of the liquid crystal display layer. A light guide plate is provided with scattering particles and microstructures corresponding to the light supplement area to improve the light output efficiency of the light supplement area. The luminous intensity of a direct-down backlight source corresponding to a light source of the light supplement areais larger than that of a light source of the display area to improve the light output intensity of the light supplement area. Thus, the electronic device overcomes the defect that bright and dark bands appear around an original through hole, and original modules of the light supplement area of the electronic device are designed to realize the double functions of photographic light supplement and illumination.

By the aid of rings with alternating bright bands and dark bands, the age is distinguished and judged easily, so that the accuracy of identification of the age of the mandarin fish is greatly improved.

A light guide plate comprises a light incidence face for receiving incident light beams, a light emission face adjacent to the light incidence face and a bottom face opposite to the light emission plate. The light incidence face is perpendicular to the light emission face and formed by sinking of the peripheral face of the light guide plate towards the interior of the light guide plate. The incident light beams are subjected to incidence into the light guide plate through the light incidence face and are refracted towards sides adjacent to the light incidence face to form uniform light field distribution on the section of the light guide plate parallel to the light emission face. The invention further provides a backlight module using the light guide plate. According to the light guide plate and the backlight module, the light incidence face is sunken towards the interior of the light guide plate from the peripheral face of the light guide plate, and the incident light beams are subjected to incidence into the light guide plate through the light incidence face and are refracted towards the two sides of the light guide plate, so that dark zones at the edges of the light guide plate can be effectively reduced, and the light ray utilization rate of the light guide plate can be improved.
