Embodiments of a flexible electronic visual display device and a flexible mobile computer having such a display device are disclosed. The basic electronic visual display device comprises a flexible display device, at least one control system, at least one three-dimensional sensor, a flexible housing containing the electronic components, and an adjustment means for the housing. In some embodiments, the flexible display device can have additonal sensors of various types, a projector, a wireless communication interface, and a wireless power supply. For independent use some embodiments of the flexible electronic visual display device can also comprise an electronic module including at least one processor and at least one data memory, and also at least one electrical energy storage device being contained in the housing as well. This permits the flexible electronic display device to provide a broad range of functionalities and application possibilities, and to assume novel functionalities and applications.

An article of accentuated headwear includes an attire portion configured for attachment to a wearer's head. A support structure for an electronic visual display device with a pair of vehicle head rest post clamping members, a first and second extension rod, a first and second joint member and an electronic device support plate. A system and method for displaying images or video on an electronic display. A unique identifier may be embedded within the frames of images or video and detected by a light sensor. The data from the light sensor is analyzed to determine if the proper image or video was actually shown at the display. Some embodiments analyze the data from the light sensor in real time and may stop displaying the image or video if the data is not in the format of a unique identifier. Using this embodiment, the system can prevent unintended images or video from being shown on the display.

A system and method for communicating over a network are presented. Embodiments of the present invention are operable to capture a touch input directly from an electronic visual display coupled to a client device. The touch inputs are then transmitted from the client device to a host device over a network. The host device proceeds to render data in response to the touch input provided by the client device, which is then transmitted back to the client device over the network for display on the client device.

An electronic music display and methods of using the same are disclosed. The present application relates to a method for continuously moving displayed information on an electronic display device according to the physical movement of a user so as to maintain the focus of the user's eyes on the content, and display apparatus thereof. By way of an example, this application will enable reading from an electronic display apparatus while the user and/or the display apparatus is in a dynamic environment, such as, while in a moving vehicle like car, train or bus and/or while working out in a cardiovascular machine like treadmills, elliptical machines, stairmasters, stepmills or stationary bikes.

The method described herein includes continuously detecting the physical movement of the user using either (i) motion sensors attached to the person, or (ii) a camera to continuously capture the image of the user's face and/or the image of an identifiable object attached to the user. The movement of the user, and subsequently his eyes, is determined from sensor data or by face recognition or by object detection. Simultaneously, measurement of the movement of the display device is performed using the sensors attached to or inside the display device. This allows determination of the relative movement between the user and the display device, which allows calculation of the amount of movement in the displayed information relative to the user. The displayed information is then moved by the same or relative amount in real time to continuously maintain the focus of the user's eyes on the text being read. The experience thereof is equivalent to a user reading in a stationary environment, such as, sitting on a couch and reading.

The present invention is directed to a hybrid book. In one embodiment, the hybrid book includes a plurality of pages containing a plurality of fixed media, a data controller, digital storage, an electronic visual display, a display driver and a power source. The hybrid book is configured and adapted to receive visual media into the digital storage for playback on the electronic visual display. The power source may optionally be a battery and preferably a rechargeable battery. The hybrid book presents the plurality of fixed media and the visual media in combination. The data controller, digital storage, electronic visual display and display driver are preferably communicatively coupled together. The digital storage preferably is programmable, but not re-writeable or re-programmable. In other embodiments, the digital storage may be re-writeable or re-programmable. The pages may be fixed by a spine. The hybrid book may include a cover, and the electronic visual display may be attached to the cover. The hybrid book may be configured and adapted to present the plurality of fixed media simultaneously with the visual media. The hybrid book may include a plurality of input and/or output ports. A port may be included for a power source to recharge the battery or to connect an external power supply. Another port may be used to load electronic media into the digital storage.

An electronic visual display system with an integrated general lighting system includes an electronic visual display having a housing and one or more lighting devices integrated therewith to provide light to one or more spaces external to the electronic visual display housing. The lighting devices have an independent on and off state which allows for the lighting devices to be in the on state independent of the on and off state of the electronic visual display. The lighting devices provide a relatively constant and user selectable color and level of light output.

The present disclosure relates to a system for implementing an immersive Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) (or called immersive virtual simulation system), wherein the proposed system includesa master server engine that is configured to enable multi-side electronic visual displays, and further includes a real-time motion tracking engine that is operatively coupled with the master server engine. The motion tracking engine can be configured to, in real-time, determine cyber-physical position data of at least one motion tracked object across X, Y, and Z coordinates using one or more motion track sensors that are operatively coupled to said real-time motion tracking engine, and enable generation of tracking data of said at least one tracked object based on said cyber-physical positiondata, said tracking data being used to integrate and 3D visualize said at least one tracked object in said CAVE.

An electronic visual display system with an integrated general lighting system including an electronic visual display having a housing and one or more lighting devices integrated therewith to provide light to one or more spaces external to the electronic visual display housing. The lighting devices have an independent on and off state which allows for the lighting devices to be in the on state independent of the on and off state of the electronic visual display. A method in a UI of a process control system is disclosed. The UI is configured to be displayed on an electronic visual display unit connectable to the process control system. A user interface (UI) for a process control system is disclosed. The UI is configured to be displayed on an electronic visual display unit connectable to the process control system. The UI includes a plurality of sub-UIs, each sub-UI being adapted to visually indicate at least a part of a process controlled by the process control system. A selection sub-UI is provided that can be selectively activated and deactivated by the user or operator, which selection sub-UI enables the user to at least temporarily select one or more of a plurality of visual representations corresponding to corresponding ones of the plurality of sub-UIs. When the selection sub-UI is deactivated, sub-UI corresponding to the selected one or more of the plurality of visual representations is displayed on the display unit.
