2 results about "Thermoregulation" patented technology

Thermoregulation is the ability of an organism to keep its body temperature within certain boundaries, even when the surrounding temperature is very different. A thermoconforming organism, by contrast, simply adopts the surrounding temperature as its own body temperature, thus avoiding the need for internal thermoregulation. The internal thermoregulation process is one aspect of homeostasis: a state of dynamic stability in an organism's internal conditions, maintained far from thermal equilibrium with its environment (the study of such processes in zoology has been called physiological ecology). If the body is unable to maintain a normal temperature and it increases significantly above normal, a condition known as hyperthermia occurs. For humans, this occurs when the body is exposed to constant temperatures of approximately 55 °C (131 °F), and with prolonged exposure (longer than a few hours) at this temperature and up to around 75 °C (167 °F) death is almost inevitable. Humans may also experience lethal hyperthermia when the wet bulb temperature is sustained above 35 °C (95 °F) for six hours. The opposite condition, when body temperature decreases below normal levels, is known as hypothermia. It results when the homeostatic control mechanisms of heat within the body malfunction, causing the body to lose heat faster than producing it. Normal body temperature is around 37 °C (99 °F), and hypothermia sets in when the core body temperature gets lower than 35 °C (95 °F). Usually caused by prolonged exposure to cold temperatures, hypothermia is usually treated by methods that attempt to raise the body temperature back to a normal range.

A human body heat damage synchronous prediction method based on a dynamic coupling physiological model

PendingCN122369950AHuman bodyCore temperature
This invention relates to a method for synchronous prediction of human thermal injury based on a dynamically coupled physiological model. First, a refined, segmented, multi-layered human physiological thermal model is constructed. Based on this model, a set of coupled biological heat transfer equations is established, embedding an active thermoregulation mechanism mediated by the human central nervous system. This set of equations is solved by deeply and dynamically coupling skin temperature, core temperature, and physiological parameters such as blood perfusion rate, metabolic rate, and sweat evaporation. Subsequently, by setting the initial and boundary conditions of a fire scene operation, the coupled equations are solved in one go using numerical methods. During the same solution process, the system synchronously and in parallel performs segmented skin burn risk assessment and overall human heat stress risk assessment. This invention overcomes the limitations of traditional models in segmented prediction and coupled active thermoregulation, achieving effective synchronous early warning of skin burn risk and overall heat stress risk in various parts of the human body under extreme thermal environments.

A traditional Chinese medicine composition for improving wind-cold fever and application thereof

PendingCN122251530AAntipyreticAnalgesicsOrgan damageBiology
This invention discloses a traditional Chinese medicine composition for improving fever due to wind-cold and its application, belonging to the field of traditional Chinese medicine technology. Targeting the core pathogenesis of fever due to exogenous wind-cold, this invention combines modern thermoregulation and microcirculation pathological mechanisms, based on the principle of hypothalamic preoptic thermoregulatory center regulation. It abandons the drawbacks of Western medicine ibuprofen, which forcibly intervenes in the hypothalamic thermoregulatory center, constricts visceral blood vessels, and aggravates organ damage. It overcomes the technical defects of traditional Chinese medicine, which simply induces sweating to relieve exterior symptoms, depletes qi and damages yang, and easily leads to recurrence. The formula uses ephedra, curculigo, angelica pubescens, and galangal in combination. Through the synergistic effects of dispersing cold and clearing the lungs, warming yang and consolidating the collaterals, warming the middle jiao and dispelling pathogens, and unblocking the meridians, it gently regulates the homeostasis of the hypothalamic thermoregulatory center, expands spasmodic capillaries on the body surface and in the internal organs, improves the body's microcirculation, dispels cold pathogens from the skin surface, warms and unblocks the blood vessels of the internal organs, and also protects the heart, liver, and kidneys, strengthening the body's foundation and nourishing the vital energy. This achieves a comprehensive improvement of fever due to wind-cold, with mild medicinal properties, stable efficacy, and no risk of organ damage.
