A cradle assembly affixed to a first portion of the back board releasably grips the tablet computer. A riser board is attached to the back of the cradle assembly. A lighting means is powered by a rechargeable battery, the battery located in a power box against which the laptop computer rests. An on-off switch on the power box turns the lighting means on and off. A retractable AC power cord is located inside the rear member. Retractable and telescoping legs are positioned under the base support. A handle is used to carry the present invention when not in use.

The invention provides a device, and method of making and using the device, for providing at least one work surface. The device may include (a) a base portion 110 that includes an upper base portion 120 and a lower base portion 130, the upper base portion 120 and the lower base portion 130 forming a base portion cavity 115 disposed there between; and (b) at least one base portion extension 300, each base portion extension 300 attached to the base portion 110, each base portion extension 300 movable between a stored position in which the base portion extension 300 is mostly disposed in the base portion cavity 115, and an extended position, in which the base portion extension 300 is mostly extended out from the base portion 110 so as to form a working surface. The at least one base portion extension 300 may include four base portion extensions 300. The device may further comprise a work surface assembly 200, the work surface assembly 200 pivotally disposed upon the base portion 110 so as to form a work surface such that the angle of the work surface may be varied. Yet further, the device may further comprise a leveling assembly 500, the leveling assembly 500 pivotally disposed under the base portion 110 and attached to the lower base portion 130, the leveling assembly 500 pivotally disposed such that the angle that the base portion 110 is disposed upon a surface may be varied.

A system and method for using a book/laptop stand is disclosed. The book/laptop stand comprises a short or tall stand, and a mounting deck. The mounting deck comprises a mounting platform, mounting platform coupler, slide clamps, and slide clamp slots. The mounting platform can both rotate and swivel 360°, and is attached to either of the stands by the mounting coupler. Both the height and width of either stand can be adjusted, with optional detents to fix at predetermined locations. The mounting coupler rotationally frictionally couples the mounting platform to the stands. The mounting platform includes slide clamps that are adjustable in location within slide clamp slots. Detents can also be provided for the mounting coupler. The slide clamps include a locking lever, attached to which are a rolling ball that allows users of the book/laptop stand to substantially easily turn pages of a book.

A foldable laptop stand includes a laptop support surface with a first portion and a second portion, where the first portion and the second portion are non-co-planer. A support surface angle positioner is coupled to and co-planer with the first portion of the laptop support surface. A positioner engagement portion is coupled to and co-planer with the second portion of the laptop support surface. In addition, the support surface angle positioner and the first portion of the laptop support surface have a first hinged interface therebetween, the positioner engagement portion and the second portion of the laptop support surface have a second hinged interface therebetween, and the positioner engagement portion is removably coupleable with the support surface angle positioner to selectably position the laptop support surface at an angle to the support surface angle positioner.

The invention provides a reading stand. The reading stand may include a base including a base member case. Further, the reading stand may include a reading lid disposed upon the base member case, the reading lid including a reading platform having a front side and a backside; and at least one page holder adjustably mounted on the reading platform so as to assist in retaining a document on the front side of the reading platform. Further, a support member is provided. The support member extends from the backside of the reading platform, and is adapted to engage with the base so as to support the reading lid upon the base. For example, the support member may be in the form of a side support clip that substantially vertically supports the reading lid upon the base for side reading.
