Abstract

The method comprises the following steps of: migrating an RD (route distinguisher) to be migrated to a second BGP (border gateway protocol) process; traversing all VPN (virtual private network) routes under the RD to be migrated, and backing up all the VPN routes under the RD to be migrated to the second BGP process; ageing the routing information of the RD to be migrated after all the VPN routes under the RD to be migrated are backed up, and informing the second BGP process after the ageing; and after the notification that the second BGP process completely migrates the routing information of the RD to be migrated is received, deleting the RD to be migrated and all the VPN routes under the RD to be migrated.
