Abstract

The present invention provides a dishwasher provided with: a washing vessel (2) for containing an object to be washed; a washing pump (6) for pressurizing washing water discharged onto the object to be washed; a rotation bearing (13) fixed to the washing vessel (2); and a washing nozzle (7) rotatably supported on the rotation bearing (13) and discharging the washing water pressurized by the washing pump (6). The washing nozzle (7) has a nozzle section (100) provided with conduits (15, 16) having discharge openings (19, 20), and also has rotating shaft (14) incorporating a valve element (21). The valve element (21) has open sections (22) and closed sections (23) and pivots by rotating within the rotating shaft (14) together with the washing nozzle (7) and, at the same time, moving forward and backward along the direction of water flow, to thereby switch the supply of the washing water between the conduits (15, 16). The configuration allows the switching between the conduits by the valve element (21) to be performed reliably, saves water, and washes dishes uniformly to enhance the effect of washing.
