Abstract

The invention discloses a wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU), a method and wireless network equipment. The WTRU comprises a processor configured to transmit a channel quality indication (CQI) at regular intervals on an up-chain channel; configured to monitor a down-chain channel with respect to a Radio Network Temporary Identity (RNTI) related to the WTRU; configured to determine whether a wireless network is asking the WTRU to transmit the CQI in response to detection of the RNTI related to the WTRU; and is configured to transmit the CQI to the wireless network in response to the wireless network which has asked the WTRU to transmit the CQI.
