The authentication method and the related device are applied to the technical field of communication. The authentication method for the video conference comprises the following steps of: receiving authentication information uploaded by a conference terminal, wherein the authentication information is a conference information image or information obtained according to the conference information image, and the conference information image is used for indicating the conference information comprising a conference identity; obtaining the conference identity according to the authentication information; and matching the obtained conference identity and a preset conference identity, if yes, adding the conference terminal to the conference.
