Embodiment Construction

[0045] Exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The detailed description, which will be given below with reference to the accompanying drawings, is intended to explain exemplary embodiments of the present invention, rather than to show the only embodiments that can be implemented according to the present invention. The following detailed description includes specific details in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention. It will be understood, however, to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without these specific details. For example, the following detailed description is given on the assumption that the mobile communication system is a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) system. However, these descriptions can be applied to any other mobile communication systems other than specific features inherent to the...

Abstract

A method for estimating channel state in a wireless communication system and a mobile station using the same are disclosed. The method includes acquiring cell Identifiers (IDs) of a serving cell and one or more neighbor cells, acquiring information about preset power level patterns for one or more frequency partitions to which FFR is applied according to the cell IDs, and estimating a channel state of the serving cell based on the power level pattern information.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more particularly, to a method for estimating a channel state in a wireless communication system using Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR). Background technique [0002] FFR is one of techniques capable of increasing the number of channels per cell area in a cellular system. Typically, a signal becomes weaker as it propagates. This means that the same frequency channels can be used in places separated by a distance or more from each other. According to this principle, subscriber capacity can be greatly increased by simultaneously using the same frequency in multiple locations. This efficient use of frequencies is known as frequency reuse. [0003] A cell (or sector) is defined as a geographically distinct unit area, and exchanging frequency channels between cells to continue ongoing communication is called handover. Frequency reuse is necessary for analog cellular mobile communicati...
