The embodiment of the invention provides a data transmission method and data transmission equipment. Transmission resources are saved. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving an indication about a transmission mode adopted for a transport block from a high protocol layer, wherein the high protocol layer is a sub-layer above a physical layer; and transmitting the transport block to a receiver, and informing the receiver of the transmission mode adopted for the transport mode, wherein the transmission mode corresponds to the indication. By the method and the equipment, different data can be transmitted according to different transmission modes, for example, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for transport blocks by which the CRC is not required is avoided, or unnecessary retransmission for transport blocks not to be retransmitted in a frame of data is avoided; and therefore, the processing resources of the receiver can be saved, and the transmission sources of a network also can be saved, such as power sources, code sources and the like.
