According to the master-slave communication method and device, the incompatibility problem among equipment of different generations is converted into replacement problem between full-duplex centralized monitoring data link structures and half-duplex centralized monitoring data link structures, a common interface is set in the full-duplex centralized monitoring data link structures and the half-duplex centralized monitoring data link structures, and new-generation equipment can replace old-generation equipment.
