Problems solved by technology

Therefore, in the case of using a voice coil type speaker as an actuator to excite the castanets, even if a desired sound quality can be produced when producing sound as a speaker, the desired sound quality cannot be produced when the castanets are excited.

Embodiment Construction

[0039]overall structure

[0040] figure 1 is an external perspective view of the grand piano 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention. Like a known grand piano, the grand piano 1 has a keyboard and pedals 3 for controlling music performance, in which a plurality of keys 2 are arranged on the front side of the piano for a performer or user to operate. The grand piano 1 also includes a controller 10 having an operation panel 13 on its front surface portion and a touch panel 60 provided on a portion of the music stand. The user inputs user instructions to the controller 10 by operating the operation panel 13 and the touch panel 60 .

[0041] The grand piano 1 is configured to be able to generate sound in one sound generation mode selected from a plurality of sound generation modes according to an instruction of a performer (user). These sound generation modes include (1) normal sound generation mode, (2) sound attenuation mode, and (3) sound enhancement mode.

Abstract

The invention relates to a keyboard musical instrument. In the sound attenuation mode, performance information is output corresponding to the operation of the keys, and a driving signal indicating a sound based on the performance information is supplied to the driving unit positioned on the soundboard. The soundboard vibrates in response to the mechanical vibrations generated by the excitation unit and produces an actively vibrating soundboard sound and an acoustic effect through vibration propagation of the soundboard to the strings. The excitation unit has a voice coil excited by the drive signal. The length of the voice coil is equal to or less than the sum of twice the maximum offset (sw) of the vibrating member connected to the soundboard and the magnetic circuit width (mw) of the magnetic circuit space. By determining the length of the voice coil as described above, effective driving force for exciting the soundboard and enhanced responsiveness in the high frequency band can be obtained.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a technology for enriching the sound that a keyboard musical instrument can produce. Background technique [0002] Typically, electronic pianos do not have castanets like acoustic pianos do because electronic pianos are programmed to produce electronic sounds from speakers. However, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. JP2008-292739A discloses a technique of installing a castanet on an electronic piano and installing a speaker on the castanet so that a vibration sound is emitted from the castanet by exciting the castanet with the speaker. Thus, the electronic piano can produce not only electronic sound but also rich acoustic low-pitched sound due to the vibrating sound emitted from the castanets. The above-mentioned patent documents also disclose that this technology is applicable not only to electronic pianos but also to acoustic pianos (silent pianos) configured not to vibrate any strings. [0003] In order to ...
