231 results about "Sounding board" patented technology

A sounding board, also known as a tester and abat-voix is a structure placed above and sometimes also behind a pulpit or other speaking platforms which helps to project the sound of the speaker. It is usually made of wood. The structure may be specially shaped to assist the projection, for example, being formed as a parabolic reflector. In the typical setting of a church building, the sounding board may be ornately carved or constructed. The term abat-voix, from the French word for the same thing (abattre (“to beat down”) + voix (“voice”)), is also used in English.

Circumferentially disposed automatic whistling tire pressure gauge warning and limiting assembly

An audibly reporting and contemporaneous pressure-relief, automatic tire assembly is disclosed for use in interaction with preexisting valve core stems on a tire of other vessel or with conventional tire rim inflation holes. The assembly of the invention has a channeled valve body having a moving inside pin, and communication from within its channel to a sound board emission port having check-reed position groove at its other end. A pressure-sensitive arc-like mechanism is provided, fabricated to provide an inwardly closing force equivalent to a preselected pressure limit desired for a respective tire or air/fluid-pressured container. This mechanism is mounted in relation to the valve body and supported by a hollow and ported collar so that it seats and exerts closing force against an exposed portion of the check-reed which sits and can move within its position groove. When air or fluid pressure is provided to the valve body, in installed position, the back pressure from this exerts a corresponding force on the check-reed. When this back-pressure force, representing pressure in the tire/container exceeds the force exerted by the pressure-sensitive mechanism leaning on the check-reed, the check-reed moves within its groove allowing excess pressure above the limit to escape, and contemporaneously reporting an audible whistling sound generated by the sound board conditions created by escaping air in adjoining spaces of the check-reed, check-reed groove, and ported support collar in relation to the valve body.

Testing method of characteristics of sound vibration and point vibration of piano sound board and special equipment thereof

The invention discloses a testing method of characteristics of sound vibration and point vibration of a piano sound board and special equipment thereof. The testing method of sound vibration and point vibration comprises the steps of applying the modern technologies, such as magnetostriction, audio measurement, vibration measurement, computer frequency spectrum analysis and the like in the manufacturing process of the piano sound board, utilizing a sound sensor and a vibration sensor for respectively detecting an integral sound vibration signal of the sound board and a point vibration signal of a local area, then analyzing the comprehensive vibration characteristics of the sound board through a computer frequency spectrum system, and further realizing the oriented tuning of the sound board. The method has the advantages of high sensitivity, fast and accurate measurement and strong intuition, and can effectively control the sound of the sound board and provide the scientific method andmeans for objective identification, evaluation and tuning of the acoustic quality of the piano sound board. The special equipment for testing of the characteristics of the sound vibration and the point vibration of the piano sound board mainly comprises an audio sweep signal generator, a magnetostrictive audio transducer, a measurement microphone, an accelerometer, a data acquisition card, professional frequency spectrum analysis software, a computer and the like.
