A noise dosimeter with capability to rapidly predict noise exposure over an extended time period based on a measurement of short duration. Either an acoustic or an electrical earphone adapter provides a convenient means to connect the noise dosimeter to an external sound source. A direct input jack operable to receive at least one audio signal provides a signal to an RMS detector, which provides a DC signal to a two-stage amplifier circuit. The outputs of the amplifiers are provided to a processor having multiple A/D channels. The processor calculates accumulated noise doses and drives a display, which in one embodiment includes a panel of light-emitting diodes. In one embodiment, the dosimeter includes functionality for control of external devices such as sound boards.

An audibly reporting and contemporaneous pressure-relief, automatic tire assembly is disclosed for use in interaction with preexisting valve core stems on a tire of other vessel or with conventional tire rim inflation holes. The assembly of the invention has a channeled valve body having a moving inside pin, and communication from within its channel to a sound board emission port having check-reed position groove at its other end. A pressure-sensitive arc-like mechanism is provided, fabricated to provide an inwardly closing force equivalent to a preselected pressure limit desired for a respective tire or air/fluid-pressured container. This mechanism is mounted in relation to the valve body and supported by a hollow and ported collar so that it seats and exerts closing force against an exposed portion of the check-reed which sits and can move within its position groove. When air or fluid pressure is provided to the valve body, in installed position, the back pressure from this exerts a corresponding force on the check-reed. When this back-pressure force, representing pressure in the tire/container exceeds the force exerted by the pressure-sensitive mechanism leaning on the check-reed, the check-reed moves within its groove allowing excess pressure above the limit to escape, and contemporaneously reporting an audible whistling sound generated by the sound board conditions created by escaping air in adjoining spaces of the check-reed, check-reed groove, and ported support collar in relation to the valve body.

An improved bridge for a guitar or other stringed instrument which offers individual height and length adjustment for each string. The bridge uses adjusters in which one part, the saddle, pivots or rocks, on a fulcrum relative to a supporting part, the anvil. The fulcrum may be incorporated into either part or may be a separate element. The fulcrum is generally perpendicular to the string and extends the full width of the adjuster. This configuration, combined with a close fit at the fulcrum results in a tight fit with minimal linear movement and no axial movement (about the vertical axis) between the parts of the adjuster. The combination of this with the ability to use relatively large elements results in an adjuster, and a bridge, with minimal dampening effect, or energy loss, on the string and improved transfer of sound energy to the sound board of the instrument.

A suspended bracing system is disclosed that allows the sound board of an acoustic instrument, such as a guitar, to vibrate more. As a result, the instrument projects more tone and volume than that provided by conventional guitar sound boards. Conventional sound boards have wood or synthetic bracing glued all across the sound board. This is to prevent the bridge from pulling up when the strings are tightened to pitch. Using the suspended system, the invention disclosed herein secures the bridge, but drops the bracing below the sound board of the guitar to allow the sound board more freedom to vibrate.

A first performance signal generator 22 generates a first performance signal based on the operating state of a plurality of keys of a keyboard 17. The present invention intends to provide a piezo-electric speaker which can generate a sound from the low frequency range to the high frequency range as well as transmit the acoustic vibration to a sound-board with a high efficiency. A plurality of strings may be stretched from a bridge on the body to the head at a terminal end of the neck. The bridge may be coupled to a soundboard and operable for connecting the plurality of strings to the body. The electronic audio subsystem may include at least one distributed mode loudspeaker. The distributed mode loudspeaker may be attached to the soundboard of the stringed musical instrument. The distributed mode loudspeaker may induce uniformly distributed vibration modes in the soundboard. A power amplification device may be disposed inside the body of the stringed musical instrument to provide power to the distributed mode loudspeaker.
