Abstract

The charging system comprises a charging station and a cleaning robot, wherein the charging station comprises a charging end, a signal source containing part and a signal source arranged within the signal source containing part, the signal source containing part comprises an upper part and a lower par, a plurality of emission windows distributed around an outer wall are arranged on an outer wall of the containing part, and the upper-part emission windows and the lower-part emission windows are transversely and vertically distributed in a staggered way; the cleaning robot comprises a connecting terminal, a receiving part and a control part; the connecting terminal is connected with the charging end to charge rechargeable batteries; the receiving part is used for receiving an upper-part signal and a lower-part signal emitted from the signal source; and the control part is used for controlling the cleaning robot to return back to the charging station to be charged according to the upper-part signal and the lower-part signal. The invention further relates to a charging station and a method for controlling the cleaning robot to automatically return back to the station to be charged.
