Abstract

The technique generally relates to context-dependent dynamic range control for gesture recognition. In some examples, the user environment, including but not limited to location, device size, virtual or physical display size, is detected and the gesture control range is adjusted based on the detected environment. In other examples, a controller user interface or dynamic range status indicator may be adjusted based on the modified gesture recognition control range.

Description

Background technique [0001] Unless otherwise indicated herein, the material described in this section is not prior art to the claims in this application and is not admitted to be prior art by inclusion in this section. [0002] Use input software to directly control traditional media equipment and computer-controlled equipment (eg, computers, televisions, message boards, electronic billboards, and surveillance equipment) through a user interface. Typically, these devices are directly controlled using the input devices used to control the devices (eg, mouse, remote control, keyboard, stylus, touch screen, etc.). Since input devices are integrated with these devices for the user to interact with the device, the user needs to have direct access to, or very close to, such input devices and screens in order to interact with the device through keystrokes on the keyboard, movement of the mouse, and selections on the touch screen. Initiate actions, operate devices, and control device...
