Abstract

An embodiment of the invention discloses a load balancing method and equipment based on automatic cell coverage adjustment. By application of the technical scheme, the cell reference signal power of an origin cell is decreased after edge users are switched out, and the cell reference signal power of a target cell is increased, so that signals of the origin cell can be weakened with switching out of the edge users, signals of the target cell can be strengthened with switching in of new edge users, and further respective coverage areas of the two cells are adjusted automatically with load of the two cells unchanged. Therefore, the edge users switching from the origin cell to the target cell due to load balancing requirement can receive stronger signals of the target cell under the circumstance of position invariance, undesired signal strength of the origin signal is reduced, wireless channel environment of the users switched out is optimized, and user service awareness is improved.
