Problems solved by technology

However, most resolution schemes fail in the face of frequent website updates
The dynamic nature of some websites makes it nearly impossible to have a secure resolution solution with a high success rate for parsing content from the website
In addition, customizing to suit the variability of a website can also lead to problems in maintaining and hosting database solutions for parsing content from a website

Embodiment Construction

[0015] As briefly mentioned above, applications can retrieve content from websites through the sandbox. The application can isolate the extraction and preparation of content in the sandbox by using scripts retrieved from cloud sources. This client can be further isolated from script management through an update mechanism at the cloud source.

Abstract

The present invention discloses retrieving content from a website through a sandbox. The client system can interact with the sandbox environment to host the web browser control within the sandbox. The web page URL, the URL to the script file to be injected into the web page, the name of the script method to be called, and the event to look for to trigger the script method are sent from the client to the sandbox environment. The sandbox environment uses the script URL to download the script file from the cloud, and uses the specified web page URL to load the rendering engine. The specified script file is then injected into the loaded web page at the sandbox environment. After the specified event is fired, the sandbox environment triggers the specified script method and stores the result in a results array accessible by the client system.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to network technology, in particular to content retrieval technology. Background technique [0002] Web applications provide various services and data to users through the network. Data is collected, processed and stored in various locations. The web application retrieves this data, formats it for rendering, and provides it to the browsing application on the client device to render the website. Some websites may be static, where this data is non-interactive. Other web pages may provide some interactivity, such as additional information, through links or web module-based activations. In general, however, websites render data in a format and volume that is generated by the system according to the organization's requirements, or in a custom build based on user input and formatting. [0003] Site content comes in a variety of forms. Content may include text, audio, video, images, diagrams, diagrams, and the like. The validity an...
