1230 results about "Event type" patented technology

The Event.type read-only property returns a string containing the event's type. It is set when the event is constructed and is the name commonly used to refer to the specific event, such as click, load, or error.

System and method for event subscriptions for CORBA gateway

A CORBA Gateway between CORBA-based applications and an enterprise manager may be configurable to manage various networked objects, such as printers, scanners, copiers, telephone systems, cell phones, phone systems, faxes, routers, switches, etc., which may be interconnected via networks. Various embodiments of the CORBA Gateway may include an Event Gateway which manages object events. The CORBA Event Gateway is designed to leverage existing Event Distribution Server (EDS) sinks to provide EDS filtering functionality and EDS object level access control functionality. The approach leverages existing EDS solutions by providing a common sink for all events/notifications and using a unique Event Port Registry to manage the subscriptions of various TMN clients that subscribe for such events/notifications. Generally, the approach described provides the capability to filter events according to criteria presented by client event subscriptions. In one embodiment, the events may be filtered to enforce policy-based access control on TMN events/notifications, determining which CORBA client applications have access to which events. The filtering of events at the sink based upon client subscriptions decreases unnecessary network traffic in that events may be “pushed” to the client, rather than delivered upon client request. In addition, the approach may provide easy-to-use IDL APIs that allow CORBA clients to directly subscribe/unsubscribe to events based on criteria such as object class, object instance, and event type.

System and Methods for Linking Multiple Events Involving Firearms and Gang Related Activities

Methods for linking multiple events involving firearms submit event information data and firearms information data to a system that includes a database for multiple firearms events and generate a query map that correlates data in the system database with a preselected geographical grid based upon one or more preselected matching criteria to one or more data entries for a selected event. The map is used to generate a request for a possible link analysis which may be initiated by a firearms examiner and is then performed to determine if there is a link. The event information data can include a case number, a geographical location data entry, a date entry, a crime type, a weapon involved and a suspect information data field based upon input from an investigating officer while the firearms information data can include a weapon data entry and a bullet data entry based upon input from a person with firearms examiner training. The methodology can be used to prioritize multiple requests for a possible link analysis based upon information obtained in one or more query responses and the query response can display at least some of its information in a query map that correlates data in the system database with a preselected geographical grid. One or more gang database modules allow users to execute searches of a gang database and plot incidents on a geographic grid with each incident being represented by a unique icon related to a class of crime or type of incident.

Method for video/audio recording using unrestricted pre-event/post-event buffering with multiple bit and frame rates buffer files

Aspects of the present invention include method and apparatuses that may be utilized to more efficiently use available storage space for a digital video recording system in a law enforcement vehicle and final “backend storage systems.” In one embodiment of the present invention, video and audio data is recorded in one or more buffers when a triggering event is activated, while a digital video recording device accounts for specified pre-event time, a time period before a first triggering event has been activated, and a post-event time, a time period after a second triggering event has been activated. The system will tag the actual start and stop points of events in one or more buffers based on a first and a second triggering event and will then include the pre-event and post-event data along with specified data. The system will then extract the event from one or more buffer files and write the event into final video files to be stored in a hard disk drive. By recording the pre-event and post-event data in multiple buffer files and extracting the final result from selected buffer files based on the nature of the event type, the system ensures that storage device is effectively used and, in this way, useful information is recorded.

Signal interpretation engine

A signal interpretation engine apparatus and method are disclosed in certain presently preferred embodiment as including a computer programmed to run a plurality of modules comprising a feature expansion module, a weight table module, a consolidation module, and a map generation module. The feature expansion module contains feature operators for operating on a signal to expand the signal to form a feature map of feature segments Each feature segment corresponds to a unique representation of the signal created by a feature operator operating on the signal across an epoch. An epoch corresponds to an event occurring within a time segment. The weight table module provides a weight table having weight elements Each weight element has a weight corresponding to a feature segment of the feature map. The consolidation module provides a superposition segment by combining the feature segments of the feature map corresponding to the epoch by forming an inner product of the feature map and the weight table. The consolidation module also applies aggregators to consolidate the inner products or superposition segments into a distribution function representing an attribute over a domain reflecting a selected weight table, aggregator, and event type, corresponding to each value of the attribute. The map generation module produces an interpretation map that reflects a preferred weight table and aggregator to be applied to the signal data to characterize the event.
