[0024] The Thermal Analog Probe (TMP) for the product described may consist of a critical mass temperature sensitive material, usually enclosed within an insulating layer along with standard temperature sensing devices (e.g. thermistors, thermocouples, thermometers, etc.) , can be used to simulate the internal temperature of a box of actual food such as lettuce or other refrigerated or frozen food. The foods include, but are not limited to, French fries, chicken nuggets, orange juice, fresh chicken, fish, eggs, meat, and other perishable foods. The TMP example described below is used to simulate lettuce, however, other food and perishable products can be simulated as required.
