Each bifurcation pool comprises a main section bifurcation port and a bifurcation section bifurcation port, wherein the main section bifurcation port is parallel with the bifurcation section bifurcation port. A rectification guide plate is further arranged in each bifurcation pool, and gates are arranged in the pools adjacent to the main section bifurcation ports and the bifurcation section bifurcation ports. According to the vertical seam type fishway with the bifurcation sections, the bifurcation sections are arranged at the upstream and the downstream, and the gates of the bifurcation sections are opened and closed properly in the period when the water level is relatively stable, so that fishes can go in and out of the fishway conveniently according to the needs.
