Embodiment Construction

[0014] figure 1 A tool 1 for assembling and removing an object fastened by screw members 2 on the rear side of the object is shown. The tool is particularly suitable for removing screw members fastened on the rear side 3 a of the brake yoke 3 in the vehicle wheel housing 4 . The wheel housing has a gap 4 a delimited by the vehicle body 5 . The gap leading to the wheel housing is emptied when the wheel is removed. The brake yoke 3 is positioned such that it extends partly around the brake disc 6 . The brake yoke is fixed by means of a plurality of screw members 2 in a schematically depicted fastening element 7 which can be positioned on a wheel axle of the vehicle. The wheel housing includes other components, such as shock absorbers, which limit the space within the wheel housing. For clarity, figure 1 No other components appear in . The brake yoke 3 is usually secured by a number of screw members 2 in the wheel housing 4, although only one of these screw members is prese...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a tool (1) for fitting and removing screw means (2) situated on a rear side (3a) of an object (3). The tool (1) comprises a first straight section (1a) whereby a turning movement may be imparted to the tool (1), a second straight section (1c) provided with a socket (8) which is adapted to being fastened on the screw means (2), and a connecting section(1b) which serves as a connection between the first straight section (1a) and the second straight section (1c). The connecting section (1b) has a cranked shape so that it can reach round said object (3) and make it possible to convert turning movements of the first straight section (1a) at a position in front of the object (3) to turning movements of the second straight section (1c) and the screw means (2) on the rear side of said object (3). The first straight section (1a) and the second straight section (1c) are turnable about a common axis (9).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a tool for assembling and removing screw members on the rear side of an object according to claim 1 . Background technique [0002] A brake yoke in a vehicle is usually incorporated into the vehicle wheel housing and is fastened by means of a plurality of screws positioned on the rear side of the brake yoke. This leads to difficulties in accessing and removing the brake yoke using conventional tools such as a socket wrench or torque wrench having a cooperating extension in the form of a ratchet handle or the like. In order to release the brake yoke during maintenance or repair, a fitter usually has to reach into the wheel housing and loosen the screws with the aid of an impact wrench. Assemblers thus have to work in unergonomic postures. Releasing the brake yoke in this manner is also time consuming. When the brake yoke is to be assembled back into the wheel housing, access is difficult and a torque wrench is difficult to us...
