The present invention pertains to the field of cancer therapy using anti-cancer antibodies. The medical use of anti-HER2 antibodies having improved glycosylation characteristics, in particular a reduced fucosylation, is provided which show enhanced efficacy.

The anti-HER2 antibody demonstrates therapeutic efficacy in situations where therapy with common therapeutic antibodies and chemotherapeutics has failed or is less effective, thus allowing the successful treatment of new patient groups and especially patients who can be successfully treated with conventional anti-HER2 antibody therapy . In particular, the present invention provides novel anti-metastatic therapies as well as new treatments for previously treated patients, including deeply pretreated patients with metastatic cancer, in which the cancer or metastases recur despite existing therapies.
