In some embodiments used with positive airways pressure ("PAP") systems, the pillow system includes a tube that delivers breathable gas to a mask.

Background technique [0002] Many people don't get the sleep they need because they are light sleepers, have trouble falling asleep, or have other conditions such as sleep apnea. Many subjects with sleep apnea wear face masks and positive airway pressure systems to treat their apnea to relieve symptoms. [0003] As with normal pillows, a mask worn by a subject with sleep apnea may move out of position or press uncomfortably against the subject's face during the night. Some pillows have been developed for subjects with sleep apnea with the goal of overcoming the problems experienced with normal pillows by subjects wearing face masks. These pillows are contoured to the shape of the mask so that the subject can rest their head on the pillow without the discomfort of the mask.
