Abstract

The image registration method comprises steps of performing character recognition on a first image and a second image, wherein the first image and the second image contain characters, generating a candidate matching pairs based on the character recognition result, choosing a self-consistent candidate matching pair from the candidate matching pairs and generating a geometry transformation from the second image to the first image according to the self-consistent candidate matching pair, and mapping the second image into the coordinate system of the first image according to the geometry transformation. The image registration method and the image registration device are small in calculation amount and accurate in registration, and because of that, the image splicing method and the image splicing device can achieve a better splicing effect under the premise that the calculation amount is small.
