An ice crushing attachment for a stand mixer having a rotating drive outlet (11) and a planetary drive outlet (15); the attachment includes a generally tubular body (21) for attachment to Stand mixer; rotatable scroll-like extrusion tool (22) capable of rotating within the tubular body when the tubular body is attached to the stand mixer and having means for coupling with the rotary drive outlet; allowing means (24) for introducing ice into said tubular body, which means engages with the extruding tool for breaking up and transporting to the outlet of the accessory; and a die member (23), which is selected from a plurality of die members to adapted to the outlet and configured to affect the size and / or consistency of the crushed ice as it emerges from the outlet.
