An embodiment of the invention discloses an information processing method, a mobile terminal and a server. The mobile terminal comprises a positioning unit used for obtaining position information of the mobile terminal, a first processing unit used for obtaining setting information of specific applications and a first communication unit used for sending the position information obtained via the positioning unit and the setting information obtained via the first processing unit to the server, wherein when being used for activating the specific applications, the first processing unit displays a position of the first terminal and identifiers of other position information on an output displayed map, the first communication unit is also used for receiving other position information sent by the server, and the other position information responds to other terminalas. Via use of the information processing method, the mobile terminal and the server, a social contact solution based on position information is realized, a user can conveniently and visually know about who are other users around the user and can interact with the other users around the user, social contact modes of the user are extended, and operation experience of user is improved.
