Abstract

The present invention relates to a connector in which a plurality of contacts are brought into contact with a plurality of contact pads two-dimensionally arranged on a mating surface of a mating connector simultaneously with high contact quality in response to an operation. The connector (20) has a bottom shell (22) and an outer shell (27) constituting a housing, a plurality of contacts (211), a slider (23) and a lifting plate (24). This connector (20) is fitted with a mating connector having a plurality of contact pads arranged two-dimensionally. A plurality of contact pieces (211) are arranged two-dimensionally and come into contact with a plurality of contact pads of the counterpart connector respectively. The slider (23) has a cam surface on its upper surface and slides in the transverse direction by the driving operation of the lever (37). The lifting plate (24) is moved toward the mating connector by the action of the cam surface accompanying the sliding of the slider (23).
