Abstract

The invention provides a positioning method and a mobile terminal. The positioning method comprises steps of detecting whether a card number of a user identity identification module which is currently used by the mobile terminal is a first preset card number, wherein the first preset card number is the card number which establishes a binding relation with a terminal identifier of the mobile terminal in advance; if the card number of the user identity identification module which is currently used by the mobile terminal is not the first preset card number, obtaining current position information of the mobile terminal and determining a pre-established target address corresponding to a terminal identifier of the mobile terminal, and transmitting obtained current position information of the terminal to the target address. The positioning method and the mobile terminal can determine whether to automatically transmit current position information of the mobile terminal to the target address through detecting whether a SIM card number in the mobile terminal is changed. As a result, even through the card number of the SIM card of the mobile terminal is changed, the position of the mobile terminal can be obtained in order to make the user of the mobile terminal timely find the lost mobile terminal.
