Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of operating a conveying system for a spinning bobbin and a conveying system. The conveying system includes a plastic conveying tray for vertically arranging the spinning bobbin, a conveying path for transporting the conveying tray, and a detecting means configured for detecting the occurrence of the conveying tray at a specific position of the conveying path. According to the present invention, the detecting means comprises a passive radio frequency identification transponder provided at the transfer tray and an inductive proximity switch provided at a specific position. The inductive proximity switch includes an oscillating circuit for generating an alternating magnetic field. The frequency of the alternating magnetic field corresponds to the operating frequency of the radio frequency identification transponder to ensure that the oscillation circuit is attenuated by the radio frequency identification transponder. The inductive proximity switch includes an evaluation unit which, when indicating that the amount of attenuation exceeds the preset switching threshold, is used to indicate the presence of the delivery tray.
