The column alignment method comprises the steps of determining whether first alignment information is a character string or not after an alignment request carrying the first alignment information is received; if the first alignment information is the character string, determining each column alignment character of a to-be-aligned target according to the first alignment information based on a preset column alignment character searching rule; determining a column alignment position of the to-be-aligned target according to the each column alignment character based on a preset column alignment position determining rule; and performing alignment on the column alignment positions of the respective column alignment characters. By adoption of the column alignment method provided by the invention, development workload can be effectively lowered, and more complex requirement on the column alignment way of a user can be satisfied; and the technical problems that only a specific key position or a specific sign can be used as alignment basis while more complex alignment ways cannot be satisfied are solved.
