The method comprises the steps that an object name resolution service corresponding to a tracing code identifier is acquired according to the input tracing code identifier, wherein the object name resolution service stores the association relation between the identifiers; each identifier related to the tracing code identifier is acquired from the object name resolution service; an information server corresponding to each identifier is acquired, and the relevant information corresponding to the identifier is acquired from each information server; and the relevant information of all identifiers is used as the tracing information of the tracing code identifier. According to the invention, the tracing information of the tracing code identifier throughout the whole life cycle is acquired, so that a user who queries the tracing code identifier can carry out item authenticity checking and other operations according to the acquired tracing information.
