Problems solved by technology

If the PBCH signal transmission is based on a narrow beam, and beam scanning is performed at the transmitting end to complete the coverage of the serving cell, this transmission mode will cause a longer waiting time for users to access the network and will prolong the transmission delay

Embodiment approach

[0030] For example, some parameters of the LTE system can be used to illustrate the power boost. In LTE, the number of RBs for full bandwidth can be N B= 100, the number of RBs used for PBCH transmission can be N B = 6, then the power boost gain is about G PB = 12.2dB. According to the relevant formula of path loss, the PBCH coverage is expanded in terms of cell radius: for line-of-sight (LOS) transmission, the expansion can be more than 4 times, and for non-line-of-sight (NLOS) transmission, the expansion can be more than 2.6 times. In contrast, existing schemes based on narrow beams reduce the effective coverage area. It should be noted that although the narrowband f A exist image 3 is shown in the center of the full broadband, but those skilled in the art can understand that this is only an exemplary implementation for illustration purposes, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited by this specific implementation.

Abstract

The embodiments of the invention provide a base station in a millimeter wave communication system and an execution method thereof. The method comprises the steps of concentrating all transmission powers within a full bandwidth range into a particular bandwidth for transmitting a signal, and extending the coverage range of the signal. The particular bandwidth is smaller than the full bandwidth. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, efficient solutions for the PBCH transmission in a 5G millimeter wave communication network are provided. Even in severe propagation loss scenario, the fast and random access of the system can be realized. Therefore, not only the fast and random access to the 5G millimeter wave system is realized, but also the good backward compatibility is realized during the 4G random access process.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to wireless communication, and more particularly to a method performed by a base station in a millimeter wave communication system and the base station in the millimeter wave communication system. Background technique [0002] In order to support data rates exceeding gigabit in 5G networks, mmWave bands will be utilized for future access networks because mmWave bands have abundant available frequency resources. In mmWave frequency bands, a key challenge is propagation loss. Compared with the traditional 4G network operating on 2.6GHz or 3.5GHz, the transmission channel of the millimeter wave band network will have an additional propagation loss of tens of dB. [0003] For systems operating in the mmWave frequency band, due to the very short wavelength, very large antenna arrays with reasonable shapes can be designed and developed. Using massive multiple-input multiple-output MIMO technology, the ...
