Problems solved by technology

While it may be possible to package each unit dose of cleaning product in its own protective container, in some cases such individualized packaging is not feasible and / or cost prohibitive
In addition, individualized packaging increases the potential for waste generation, which can be problematic in developing countries and other sites where waste removal services are not common

Embodiment Construction

[0018] figure 1 One possible embodiment of a product container 10 is illustrated that may be used to store and dispense multiple unit doses of product in accordance with the principles of the present invention. The product container 10 may comprise a protective casing 12 enclosing a web 14 comprising a unit dose of product. The web 14 may be wound around an axis 16 in the form of a roll. Or, as below about Figure 5 and Figure 6 As discussed, the web 14 may be z-folded with multiple folds. Removal of web 14 from protective housing 12 may be accomplished by pulling web 14 through opening 18 in protective housing 12 . The product container 10 of the present invention thus configured advantageously protects the unit dose product from damage during storage and / or transport and dispenses the unit dose product in an efficient manner.

[0019] Each of the above-mentioned components of product container 10 will now be described in more detail. Although the following text descri...

Abstract

A product container (10) is disclosed comprising a protective housing (12) and a web (14) of a unit dose product (40). The web is disposed within the hollow interior (32) of the protective shell. The web comprises a plurality of water soluble or otherwise degradable (eg UV degradable) pockets (40) removably attached to a flexible carrier sheet. The water soluble bags each contain at least one cleaning composition (44). The web is formed in a drum or in a z-fold configuration with multiple folds. Also disclosed is a product container comprising a protective sleeve (212) filled with a plurality of water soluble bags (216). The water-soluble pouches each contain at least one cleaning composition (234) and form a friction fit with one or more interior walls of the water-insoluble protective sleeve. A resealable plug (222, 224) configured to cap the open end of the water insoluble protective sleeve.

Description
