Abstract

Ensuring that the device User plane data service security between the packet data network gateway (P‑GW). The second shared key can be used to ensure the security of the user plane data traffic during transmission between the device and the P-GW. The device and the P-GW share a second shared key. The data traffic may be secured based on the second shared key to generate the first secure data traffic. The first secure data traffic may be sent to the P-GW via the access node. P‑GW and access node are different network entities. The second shared key is unknown to the access node. The P-GW obtains the second shared key from a different network entity than the device.
