Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a storage control method and system for a distributed system. The method and system are applied to a distributed system that comprises N physical disks. A storage space of each physical disk among the N physical disks is divided into small physical disks with a same size, and serial numbers of the small physical disks in each physical disk are sorted in an ascending order. The N physical disks have a large physical disk identifier separately, and each small physical disk has a small physical disk identifier, and the small physical disk identifier is obtained by combination of the large physical disk identifier and the serial number of the small physical disk. The identifier combination method of the physical disk facilitates follow-up search for the physical disk. Virtual machines can be allocated to relatively inactive disks to reduce congestion. Moreover, data that needs to be stored is split for data distribution, so that the possibility of data congestion is reduced, parallelism of data storage is improved, and security of data storage can be enhanced.
