Abstract

A vehicle heating, ventilation, and air cooling (HVAC) system that includes a module (20), an evaporator (32), and a heater core (34); the module (20) defines a defrost outlet (46), side window outlets (48a, 48b), a front face outlet (44), and a front foot outlet. The evaporator (32) and heater core (34) are both housed within the module (20). The defrost outlet (46) is open and closed by a defrost door (54), the side window outlets (48a, 48b) are open and closed by a plurality of demist doors (56a, 56b). The defrost door (54) and demist doors (56a, 56b) share a common shaft (58), a torsion spring (60) around the shaft (58) allows the defrost door (54) to remain offset from the demist doors (56a, 56b).
