The invention provides a travel habit-based user portrait obtaining method and apparatus. The method comprises the steps of obtaining the position of a user in each time period of a preset time cycle, and in combination with a semantic description of the position, obtaining the occurrence frequency of the user in each special scene in the preset time period; gathering semantic descriptions of resident points of the user in all time periods of the preset time cycle and the occurrence frequencies of the user in all special scenes in the preset time period to form description eigenvectors of the user in a travel scene; and clustering the description eigenvectors of the user in the travel scene to obtain a user portrait.
