The intelligent air conditioner and the control method are particularly suitable for the situation that the air conditioner needs to automatically judge the number of personnel entering the specific scene, automatically start or stop or adjustpower under the condition of unmanned monitoring and operating. The device comprises four parts, namely, an air conditioner body, a wireless signal emitter, a processing terminal and a receiving antenna in total, wherein a 3.20 GHz Intel(R)Pentium 4CPU, a 2GB RAM and an intel 5300 network card are carried by the processing terminal. The method is based on four modules, namely, a data pre-processing module, a singular value calculation module, a person number recognition module and a power regulation module. The signal background noise is reduced through the data pre-processing module. The singular value calculation module calculates a received signal matrix singular value. The person number recognition module confirms the accurate number of persons in the environment. The power regulationmodule changes power of the air conditioner according to the number of the persons.
