Abstract

The invention discloses a rock mass structure quantitative description method. The method adopts a rock mass structure index RSI to finely reflect a rock mass structure characteristic; a rock mass structure index RSI calculation formula is as follows: RSI=5DS5+10DS10+15DS15+20DS20+25DS25+30DS30+40DS40+50DS50+75DS75+100DS100. In the formula: the RSI is the rock mass structure index, and the unit iscm; the DS5 is the proportion of the cumulative spacing measurement value of the crack spacing between both sides of a complete rock block, being not less than 5cm within a measuring line range, %; and the DS10 is the proportion of the cumulative spacing measurement value of the crack spacing being not less than 10cm within the measuring line range, and the rest are similar. The analysis shows that RSI can quantize and reflect rock mass structural features easily, quickly and relatively accurately, and is used to evaluate the rock mass integrity and rock mass quality evaluation.
