Embodiment Construction

[0031] Throughout the following description, like reference numerals are used, where applicable, to refer to like features (eg, nodes), acts, modules, circuits, parts, items, elements, units, and the like. In the figures, features that appear in some embodiments are indicated by dashed lines.

[0032] as above with figure 1 Relatedly mentioned, mixed parameter sets for subcarriers can be used for different subbands in order to support slices in the RAN.

[0033]When using mixed parameter sets, many technical issues need to be studied: synchronization signal / system information design and monitoring, guard band between different parameter sets, DCI search space and scheduling, filtering of mixed parameter sets, random access, mobility and power control etc. These aspects can be gradually discussed in 3GPP, and product development will take longer. Furthermore, if RAN slices are supported by using mixed parameter set configuration, UEs running multiple services belonging to di...

Abstract

Embodiments provide a base station (110A, 110B, 110C), a user equipment (UE) (120A, 120B, 120C) and methods therein. The base station maps (310) a first transmission time interval (TTI) configuration associated with a carrier of the RAN (100) to a first RAN slice. The first RAN slice is configured to support a first Quality of Service (QoS) requirement. The first TTI configuration includes a first number of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. The base station maps (320) the first TTI configuration associated with the carrier to the second RAN slice. The second RAN slice is configured to support a second QoS requirement different from the first QoS requirement. The second TTI configuration includes a second number of OFDM symbols. The second TTI configuration is different from the first TTI configuration. The OFDM symbols for the first RAN slice and the second RAN slice are defined according to a single parameter set. The base station notifies (330) the UE of the first TTI configuration and the second TTI configuration mapped to the first RAN slice and the second RAN slice, respectively. Corresponding computer programs and computer program carriers are also disclosed.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments herein relate to wireless communication systems such as cellular radio access networks. In particular, a method, user equipment and base station in a radio access network are disclosed. A corresponding computer program and computer program carrier are also disclosed. Background technique [0002] A radio access network (RAN) covers a geographical area divided into cell areas, where each cell area is served by a base station. A cell is a geographical area where radio coverage is provided by a base station at a base station site. Cells often overlap with each other. One base station located at a base station site can serve one or several cells. In addition, each base station can support one or several communication technologies. [0003] Radio access networks such as 5th generation (5G) radio access networks should support multiple types of services using public RAN: enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) services, massive machine-type communi...
