Embodiment Construction
[0035] figure 1 A surge arrester 1 for a surge protection device (not shown) is shown. The surge arrester 1 has a housing 2 which is formed from a plurality of housing parts 3 , 4 . An arc combustion chamber 5 is formed in the housing 2 . Furthermore, the surge arrester 1 has three electrodes 6 , 7 , 8 . A first spark gap 9 is formed between the first electrode 6 and the second electrode 7 . A second spark gap 10 is formed between the second electrode 7 and the third electrode 8 . Overall, thus two spark gaps 9 , 10 are realized with three electrodes 6 , 7 , 8 . A compact construction of the surge arrester 1 with two spark gaps 9 , 10 is thereby achieved. When the first spark gap 9 is ignited, a first arc is generated between the first electrode 6 and the second electrode 7 . When the second spark gap 10 is ignited, a second arc is generated between the second electrode 7 and the third electrode 8 .
[0036] as in Figure 4 As can be seen in , the surge arrester has fo...
