Abstract

The invention provides an image forming apparatus. The apparatus comprises a device main body, a first paper supply box, a conveying unit and a locking part. The apparatus main body has a sheet conveyance path. The first paper feed cassette is inserted into the apparatus main body in a predetermined insertion direction and is pulled out from the apparatus main body in a pull-out direction oppositeto the insertion direction. After the first paper feed cassette is pulled out, the conveyance unit is pulled out from the apparatus main body in the pull-out direction, and before the first paper feed cassette is inserted, the conveyance unit is inserted into the apparatus main body in the insertion direction. The locking member is movable between a locking position restricting the conveyance unit from being pulled out of the apparatus main body and an unlocking position allowing the conveyance unit to be pulled out of the apparatus main body. The insertion of the first paper feed cassette into the device main body is permitted in a state in which the lock member is located at the lock position, and the insertion of the first paper feed cassette into the device main body is restricted ina state in which the lock member is located at the unlock position.
