Problems solved by technology

Such damage from vibration causes substantial loss of product and price by rendering fragile goods unmarketable or at most damaged to such an extent that the grade or overall quality of the product is reduced
However, it is difficult to determine the exact cause of the damage or the level of damage related to vibrations during the transport section

Embodiment Construction

[0045]Before turning to the drawings, which describe in detail the exemplary embodiments, it is to be understood that the application is not to be limited to the details or methodology set forth in the description or shown in the drawings. It is also to be understood that the terminology is used for the purpose of description only and should not be regarded as limiting.

[0046] Systems and methods related to monitoring cargo during transportation are shown and described with general reference to the drawings. Features of various embodiments of the present disclosure include, but are not limited to: determining at which vibration frequencies and amplitudes damage to cargo may occur during transportation; monitoring vibrations associated with cargo transportation; and to assess possible cargo damage. For example, an estimated percent damage to the cargo being transported may be able to be determined based on the monitored vibration frequency and amplitude. In some embodiments...

Abstract

Systems and methods are provided and include a processor that is configured to execute instructions stored in a nontransitory memory. The instructions include receiving at least one measurement eventsignal, which includes (i) acceleration data that represents an amount of vibration associated with goods at a corresponding time, (ii) location data that represents a location of the goods at the corresponding time, and (iii) an alarm value that is based on a comparison of the acceleration data and a threshold. The instructions include transmitting an alert to a remote device. The alert is (i) transmitted in response to the alarm value of one of the at least one measurement event signal indicating that the goods were subjected to an excessive amount of vibration, and (ii) instructs a user ofthe excessive amount of vibration. The remote device is configured to display a message based on the alert.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 15 / 971,697, filed May 4, 2018, which is a continuation-in-part of U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 15 / 254,449, filed September 1, 2016. The entire disclosures of the applications cited above are incorporated by reference. Background technique [0003] Goods are transported all over the world every day. Often, damage to cargo can occur due to vibrations associated with the shipping method. For example, delicate goods transported on roads may experience vibrations at multiple frequencies and amplitudes, which may cause damage to the delicate goods. This is more pronounced in regions or countries where roads are not maintained or are in poor condition. Such damage from vibrations results in substantial loss of product and price by rendering fragile goods unmarketable or at most damaged to the point of reducing the grade or overall quality of the pro...
