Under the condition that the elevator car carrying passengers normally operates at the speed larger than zero, when it is detected that an elevator is about to stop accidentally and suddenly, the supporting devices are switched from the hard supporting mode to the soft supporting mode, and therefore impact generated on the car when the elevator stops suddenly can be reduced.
