The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a face image to be recognized, wherein the face image comprises a face region and a non-face region; inputting the face image into a synthetic face edge generation model to obtain a binary image output by the synthetic face edge generation model; detecting whether the binarized image comprises a synthetic face edge, and if the binarized image comprises the synthetic face edge, determining that the face region in the face image is a synthetic face region; wherein the synthesized face edge is used for representing an edge between the synthesized face region and the non-synthesized non-face region in the face image.
