Embodiment Construction

[0028] The present disclosure provides a support system. The support system includes a top deck, a bottom deck, and a support structure supporting the top deck over the bottom deck. The top plate and the bottom plate have a common perimeter. A pair of parallel rails extend from the outer periphery of the top panel to the closed end of the central portion of the top panel, the rails defining the channel. A protrusion is located on each respective rail, each protrusion extending into the channel in mirror image relationship to one another. The protrusion is located at a distance of the closed end fitting width from the center portion of the top plate. The protrusion at the central portion of the top plate and the closed end together define a filling location. Fittings for the flexible container are located within the channel.

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a support system. In an embodiment, the support system includes a top plate and a base plate. The top plate and the base plate have a common outer perimeter. The support system includes a support structure. The support structure supports the top plate above the base plate. The support system includes a pair of parallel rails. The parallel rails extend from the top plate outer perimeter to a closed end at a center portion of the top plate. The pair of parallel rails defines a channel. The support system includes a protrusion on each respective rail. Each protrusion extends into the channel in mirror-image relation to each other. The protrusions are located a fitment width distance away from the closed end. The protrusions and the closed end together define a filling position. The support system includes a fitment for a flexible container in the channel.

Description

Background technique [0001] Traditional filling lines for large rigid containers typically include conveyors and guides to keep the rigid containers aligned during the filling process. Large-capacity rigid containers must be self-supporting. Self-evident is the ability of high volume rigid containers to maintain their shape and position during the filling process. [0002] In contrast, high-volume flexible containers face challenges during the filling process that high-volume rigid containers do not. The inherent non-rigid and deformable properties of high-volume flexible containers can lead to deformation during filling, improper filling, spillage, and even container collapse. Additional support equipment is required to fill such high volume flexible containers - it is not required to fill high volume rigid containers. The necessity of additional support equipment results in increased costs and additional production time for filling high volume flexible containers. [000...
