Abstract

The invention discloses a file naming method, which is executed in a file manager of a computing device, and comprises the following steps: responding to an operation of moving a mouse to a current file name of a file, displaying a naming rule list which comprises one or more naming rules, wherein the naming rule list comprises one or more naming rules, and the naming rule list comprises one or more naming rules, each naming rule comprises one or more corresponding variables; receiving a target naming rule selected in the naming rule list, and determining one or more variable values corresponding to the target naming rule; and generating a new file name based on the one or more variable values corresponding to the target naming rule so as to name the file based on the new file name. The invention also discloses a corresponding computing device. According to the file naming method, the file can be named flexibly and efficiently.
